Chapter 7 – The Holy Trinity of Health and Fitness
Combine correct nutrition and eating habits with cardiovascular and weight resistance training in order to move steadily towards your desired body composition.
The three main ingredients, or strategies, of any health and fitness program are:
1. Good nutrition
2. Correct eating habits
3. Regular exercise
Utilising all three strategies produces a ‘synergistic’ effect. This means that all three work together collectively in a mutually reinforcing manner with each individual strategy working to prop up and promote the other two. It is important then that you attend to all three. If even one from three of these strategies is missing from your program, or being under-utilised, then you’re seriously sabotaging your efforts in the other two.
Remember, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so do not compromise your results by neglecting even one of these three strategies. By utilising the synergistic properties of all three you will find that the results you achieve as a whole will far exceed the sum of the parts.
